Delicate flowers carved from glass or semiprecious
stones are suspended below mother-of-pearl beads on
these pretty earrings. They are simple to make and
would be a lovely gift for a bride or bridesmaid. The
flowers can hang below as many mother-of-pearl beads
as you wish. Here, pink cat’s-eye flowers are teamed
with nine mother-of-pearl beads.

πŸ›  Tools & Materials

🧡 Flexible beading wire (16 in / 40 cm)
🌸 2 Cat’s-eye glass flower bead (⅝ in / 1.5 cm)
βšͺ 18 Mother-of-pearl beads (β…™ in / 4 mm)
πŸ”— 2 gold-filled crimp beads
πŸͺ 2 gold-filled hook earring wires
βœ‚ Wire cutters
πŸ”§ Crimping pliers

Step 1 🧡🌸
Cut an 8 in (20 cm) length of flexible beading wire. Thread one pink cat’s-eye glass flower onto the wire and slide it to the center.

Step 2 βšͺβšͺβšͺ
Bring both ends of the wire together. String nine mother-of-pearl beads onto the doubled wire.
Tip: Use fewer beads for a shorter drop.

Step 3 πŸ”—πŸͺ
Thread both wire ends through a crimp bead, then through the eye of a hook earring wire.

Step 4 ↻
Gently pull the wire ends to form a loop around the earring wire, leaving a little space so the earring can move freely. Adjust the flower so it faces forward.

Step 5 πŸ”§
Secure the crimp bead using crimping pliers.

Step 6 βœ‚
Trim off the excess wire close to the crimp bead with wire cutters. Repeat to make the matching earring.

✨ Variation

πŸŒΊπŸ’Ž
For a more glamorous version, use violet crystal carved flowers and string ten β…› in (3 mm) bicone crystals beneath them. The crystals will catch the light beautifully as you move.
